Alan Best

It’s not often in Irish pigeon racing circles that the term Champion is used particularly in the Irish South Road Federation but I think I will be forgiven for its use in this loft report. How else could you describe a fancier who wins 4 out of our six points trophies and takes three or four positions in the first fifty on four occasions?

Alan Darragh

In the opinion of many amongst the pigeon racing fraternity in Ireland our subject, Alan Darragh, is the best ‘pigeoner’ in the island at present and indeed for sometime. In fact there are those who consider him to be amongst the top three in the history of the sport in the western isle. And if records are anything to go by then Alan Darragh deserves the many accolades that he receives.

Brian Brady

Within a short period of time he made his mark, being the Overall Club Champion for the 2007 & 2008 Season. On average Brian would notch up about 8 Club wins each season, whilst racking up some top performances at Federation level, including numerous Fed Wins, and of course an Open Win from Barleycove in 2008.

Brown & Smyth

Well here I am again and as promised here is the loft report on one of the top performing lofts in my area. The partnership of Johnny Brown and Jason Smyth is only 3 years young BUT when you see the results that these two lads have put together in such a short time I think you will agree that this is a dynamite partnership.

Mr & Mrs P Byrne

This loft not only won the Old Bird Averages in the Fed and Overall Averages in the club, they also scooped the Old Bird of the year in the Federation... Mr Stockman knows recognises potential with ease. One such experience last year, Padner had a youngster that beat his loft mates back from the only 3 tosses it had. It was removed from the young bird loft, and put to stock where it bred a winner in his first nest...
